Meet The Real-Life
Trisket & Bisket!
Twin sisters Linnea and Sarah reflect on the phenomenon of How To Share A Grape
Twin sisters Linnea and Sarah have been sharing with each other all their lives. And while it may not always have been easy, they definitely understand the value of a tight bond.
"We have some pretty big fights now and then -- just like Trisket and Bisket," says Sarah, a former business professor. "But we always remember how lucky we are to have each other."
Linnea, a psychologist, agrees. "Somehow, something good always seems to come of it," she says.
Indeed, How To Share A Grape the debut release from Super Fun Books In Action was inspired by a real-life experience. "The biggest fight we ever had was over a bunch of grapes," Linnea admits. How did they settle it? They're not saying. "We wouldn't want to spoil the story," says Sarah with a smile.
And after all, creating stories is what the pair do best. With their writing partnership spanning more than a decade, Linnea and Sarah are delighted to be sharing their "Super Fun" vision with the world. To do that, they've teamed up with award winning feature film director Daniel Robert Cohn and veteran illustrator Iris Cohn.
"Dan's a brilliant director," says Linnea. "He brings a grand theatrical sensibility to every aspect of the DVD." And Iris's whimsical illustrations evoke a sense of playfulness and fun that perfectly capture the essence of the story's five-year-old protagonists. "Trisket and Bisket lived in our heads for the longest time," says Sarah. "But Iris brought them to life out here in the world".
Are Linnea and Sarah ever surprised by the passionate response children have toward their characters?
"It's almost like Trisket and Bisket couldn't wait to get out into the world and make millions of new friends," Linnea says. "But maybe the most amazing thing is when the grown-ups write in and tell us that watching How To Share A Grape with their children helped them regain some of their own childlike wonder. That's really fun."
Or, as Trisket and Bisket would say, it's Super Fun!
